Electrical Language Podcast

The Lizards from Afar are featured on the latest release of the world-famous Electrical Language podcast

http://www.electricallanguage.co.uk/podcast.html

This podcast is heard by literally thousands of people each week. We are excited and honored to be included. Especially proud are we of Chopper Newt who recorded a spot for Electrical Language to promote their show and ourselves. It’s hilarious, so go over and give it a listen.

So how did this all come to pass? Is it because Hillary Clinton lost the nomination? Is it because Hannah Montanna has been besieged with problems of late? Is it because Obama is more popular internationally than domestically? Is it because Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk are going to make Marevel Comics big enough to be their own studio? Is it because Alan Beaman heard there was a song inspired by his unfortunate situation? Is it because Transformers 2 now has an official title? Is it because Shania Twain is getting divorced?

Nope. It’s because good things DO happen to good people.

So, did you listen to the podcast? What did you think?

I was promised Viagra, you god damn hippie!

  2. choppernewt Says:

You’re right, that IS hilarious! Washing machine! I peed myself! Y’know, not from laughing, I just didn’t feel like getting out of my chair.

  3. You’d think from the way that I create posts that I am trying to trick people into checking out our site…

  4. choppernewt Says:

I know that’s not the case. You’re not trying to do anything, you’re just not wired correctly.

  5. Hey, I posted the widget in the myspace page and got rid of the myspace player. I think it’s working great and that reverbnation will be able to track widget hits.
I think we (being Matt) should post the widget on the front page here instead of a link to the reverbnation site.
    (Just my opinion…

I started trying to replace the small banner with the tune widget but I was having trouble getting the job done, and I didn’t want to fuck up the whole works, so I left it off for now, but I agree that we ought to do that.

  7. Hello from Vermont.

You can’t use the widget with wordpress as they don’t support it–I guess you guys don’t read my posts. Figures. If you did you’d also know I put in a request to have reverbnation widgets supported, as have other people, but have heard nothing yet. Otherwise we’d have the widget up there.

And what’s wrong with the blog, Metroman?

Haven’t heard the podcast yet, but will download eventually.

  8. choppernewt Says:

    It’s not that I don’t read them, I just don’t retain them.

  9. Ha! That’s even worse.

  10. What’s worse?

  11. The reading and not retaining.

Listened to the podcast just now; it’s about 9 pm up here in the mountains and I’m digesting a fish and chips dinner and waiting for my daughter to collapse from exhaustion so we can put her to bed. Fortunately, even in the mountains we have wireless (it’s a timeshare). Anyway, Chopper you sound pretty damned cool, I have to admit. I wish I were in a band with you, sharing in your coolosity. Oh, wait!

The other tunes on the cast are very good, too. Very good. Did I mention that?

I’m looking forward to hearing what you guys come up with for Batphone and Giant Robot, as well as the final mix of Stay With Me.

Any other opinions about the Four-H idea I came up with? I dig Ivan’s lyrics. If you don’t like the rhythm I developed, I can work on some other angle.

  12. I also really like Gator’s new lyrics. I already gave my opinion on the music…which was met with scorn.

  13. choppernewt Says:

To be honest I haven’t given 4H a thought or listened to the track yet, any time I have for recording and mixing is right now going to get SWM done and out of the way. I just EM’d Metro about that, I recorded a new bass guitar because there was lots of screw-ups in the original one, and I’m going to re-do the vocals and there’s nothing you guys can do to talk me out of it – but not tonight. I know 4H is going to be fantastic, so I’m not worried in the least.

  14. My only criticism of the podcast, if I can broach the subject, is that the sound quality of Clipboard seemed low, certainly lower than even the mp3 on reverbnation. Is this the case or was it the computer I’m using? Can’t be, though, because the other tracks sounded okay.

  15. choppernewt Says:

No, I agree, and I don’t have any explanation for that, as I uploaded the 256Kbps mixdown to Gabor when I initially submitted. Any degradation or change would have to have been due to some sort of treatment or processing on his end. I heard that also. Kind of out of our hands at that point.

The level was also lower than the other songs played, and that would be my fault, I’m already trying to get things a little hotter on the SWM mix. Live and learn, I suppose.

  16. I thought we sounded a little low as well…but chalked it up to the fact that I was imagining it.
